Editorial Policy

How we write, source, date and correct the guides and news on this site.

What we publish

The blog carries practical guides on SEO, content, paid media, analytics and website performance. The news section covers changes to search engines, advertising platforms and the rules around them, and explains what each change means for UK businesses.

Who writes it

Articles are written by the SEO Bureau team. Each article shows the author's name and the date it was first published. When an article is substantially updated, the page records the date of the latest change.

Sources

News articles link to the primary source wherever one exists, such as an official announcement, documentation or a regulator's publication. When a claim is our own interpretation or estimate, the article says so. We do not publish ranking or traffic figures we cannot support.

Advice and limits

Guides describe general practice. Search engines change often, and results depend on each site, so nothing on this site is a promise of rankings or revenue. For advice on a specific site, ask for a written proposal.

Our own services

Some articles mention SEO Bureau services, products or free tools. We link to them where they are relevant to the topic.

Corrections

If you find a factual error, email us with the page address and what is wrong. When we correct an article, we update the text and its modified date.
